It has been one week in since Naira Marley was picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was arrested together with Zlatan Ibile, Rahman Jago, and others for involvement in cybercrime. Some items were seized from the suspects including laptops.
Last Tuesday, Zlatan and others were released from custody while Naira Marley remained. The anti-graft agency in a statement said it had overwhelming evidence against the artiste and he would be charged to court soon enough.
Naira Marley’s management has issued a public statement over his arrest and continued detention by the EFCC.
In the statement the team debunked any insinuations that its artiste endorsed cybercrime. The also said his follow up tune ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy?’ was only a rhetoric and plain banter.
The statement also showed Naira Marley is not a criminal but a hardworking Nigerian who is making a living out of music and making Nigeria proud.
In its last words the management urged fans of the embattled singer to stay strong while his lawyers pursue his release.
