Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has stepped down from the leadership role of the church.
The action from Pastor Biodun comes a day after protest by concerned Nigerians was done at the Church vicinity in Abuja and Lagos that he should step down and clear his name from the s3xual misconduct and rape allegations against him.
Last week Friday, Busola Dakolo in an interview had accused Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of raping her twice as minor.
Since the revealing interview, Nigerians and other anti-rape NGOs have called for the clergyman to step down as head of COZA.
In a new statement on his official Instagram page, Pastor Biodun announced that he has stepped down from the pulpit. The decision to take a leave of absence came after consulting with his mentors and also considering his love for God’s work and his sacred calling.
Although the action breaks his heart, this would afford him the chance to submit to concerns of his spiritual mentors as the consider the allegations against him.
